Outdoor Education is part of the Physical Education & Health Curriculum. The Outdoor Education programme needs to be embraced by parents, students and staff. In 2013 the whole programme is going through a redevelopment to best meet the learning needs of the students.
All Year 9 students will spend a morning with their form class at Adrenalin Forest, Porirua. The class will also be joined by some of the Tuakana (Year 12 and 13 students) that have been working with students from the form class as part of the Tuakana Teina programme at WGC (Big Sister, Little Sister programme).
In 2013 all Year 10 students will also go to Adrenalin Forest. In 2014 Year 10 will go on a camp. This is yet to be confirmed as a result of the current redevelopment. Year 11 Physical Education, Year 12 and Year 13 Sports Studies also have aspects of Outdoor Education in their courses. Information on any trips will be placed on WGC4Me as required.
